This Northern African speciality is a refreshing, vitalising and thirst quenching drink. It is the centre of social life in those countries not unlike tea drinking in Ireland.

It is traditionally made with Chinese green Gunpowder tea for strength, pungent nana/spearmint mint leaves for aroma and heaps of sugar (see 2. picture to the left, taken in Cairo's biggest market). We would recommend it with some honey or with no sweetener, depending on your personal preferences.

This tea is ideal for warm days as iced tea or to re-hydrate during/after sports activities.
